A trip to Off Road NZ is a fun way to spend your day. Our frequently asked questions will help you to plan your Rotorua adventure and have an incredible experience!
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes factors like Covid or flight cancellations force you to change your travel plans last minute, we don’t want to add to your stress and are here to help as best we can.
In these circumstances we can;
- Postpone your experience and rebook to another time, based on availability (rescheduling to another rates season could result in additional charges).
- Transfer the credit of your booking into a voucher for you to use another time, or give as a gift.
- Provide a refund for the full booking amount, less an admin fee of $25:00. Refunds are only available to direct bookings.

Can we purchase photos/video of our experiences?
We encourage you to bring your own filming equipment to catch the action. There are Go-pro mounts on some of our race helmets for the Raceline Karting. The Monster 4X4 Thrill Ride has a mount on the truck.
Is there food available at Off Road NZ?
We have a selection of ice creams, snacks and drinks available. For large pre-booked groups, we have the option of organising catering for either lunch or dinner at our Native Bush Camp catering venue.

Will I get dirty at Off Road NZ?
Off Road NZ will provide all wet weather protection to help keep you clean.
How do I get to Off Road NZ?
Off Road NZ is located 20 minutes north of Rotorua, heading towards Hamilton/Auckland, just off SH5. Follow the signs. View on Google maps.
What are Off Road NZ’s opening hours?
Off Road NZ is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9.00am to 5.00pm. We will operate after 5.00pm by prior arrangement.
What do I bring / wear to Off Road NZ?
All wet weather & protective gear is provided for you by Off Road NZ. All you need to bring is your camera or Go-pro to catch all the action. Dress for the great outdoors with covered in shoes, a jacket and a hat. Your child’s car/booster seat on our 4WD Bush Safari and a big sense of adventure paired with a can-do attitude.
Are there any restrictions on activities?
Raceline Karting requires participants be 14 years or older and a minimum height of 1.4 meters tall.
The Monster 4X4 Thrill Ride requires all passengers be a minimum height of 1.2 meters tall.
Do I need to show my driver’s license?
For drivers on our 4WD Bush Safari, a valid driver’s license is to be seen at reception. The rules are the same as on the road i.e a learner must be accompanied by a full license driver. Guests from other countries will also need to provide a license from their country of origin.
No license is required for any of our other activities.
Do I need to book my activity in advance?
Bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment. You can do this online through the Book Now button above, or over the phone at 07 332 5748.
If I am a passenger on the 4WD Bush Safari do I still pay?
Yes, the cost is per person, based on 2 to 4 guests in the vehicle. Being the passenger can be just as thrilling and challenging as being the driver and makes for a fantastic experience when the driving is shared.
Can I drive the Monster 4X4 Thrill Ride?
No, our guides are specifically trained to drive the custom built Monster 4X4 Truck. It’s not as easy as they make it look!
How many laps do I get during the Raceline Karting experience?
This experience is based on time on track, the amount of laps will depend on your driving skill and speed. Come, show us your skill!
Are there family friendly activities at Off Road NZ?
